Wellness is not a one-size-fits-all kind of thing. And the “Your Road to Wellness” feature highlights people from all walks of life and their thoughts on wellness. (Would you like to be featured or know of someone who would be a good fit? Let me know!)

This week, let’s catch up with Nirjary Desai, CEO of KIS (cubed) Events.

Q: Who is your wellness inspiration?

Jay Shetty. He’s a mind, body, soul coach. Jay spent a few years training deep in the mountains with monks and really is a positive influence on life, wellness, and spirituality.

Q: What is one piece of advice you’d give your younger self about wellness?

Focusing on your mind and mental health is so important. We must be vulnerable with our feelings and the things that have happened to us to deal with those buried memories. If you don't consistently take care of your mental health by meditation and doing things to gain mental clarity, you will constantly have things on your mind or that occupy space that will hold you back from flourishing.

Q: What do you typically do for exercise?

I love taking part in bootcamps and cardio classes at studios like Iron Tribe and Orange Theory. I’m a fan of anything to get the heart pumping and feel like I put the work into being the best version of myself!

Q: What do you consider your greatest wellness indulgence and why?

I would say massage therapy. I get to turn off my brain and get away from screens while getting the knots worked out. I always have incredible experiences at I Love Massage in Decatur, Georgia.

Q: What is your greatest self-care/wellness challenge, and how do you deal with it?

I love cooking and being in the kitchen. But, with my schedule, eating multiple healthy meals a day and being sure not to skip a meal can be a challenge. However, I know that this is important to make sure I’m nourishing my body.  Some of my favorite easy, healthy meals include a veggie Subway sandwich for lunch and a grilled chicken and arugula salad for dinner. I’m also a fan of the Mediterranean diet.

Q: What resource (e.g., website, blog, book, etc.) do you look to for wellness/self-care and why?

www.radhidevlukia.co is a must! Again, I love cooking and all things food, and through this website, I've gotten more involved in conscious cooking, which has made a huge difference in my life.

Q: Which do you prefer to drink — green juice or bubbly? Why?

Both! Green juice to clean me out from the inside out, and bubbly to celebrate the achievements.

Q: If you received $1 million to use for your wellness/self-care, how would you spend it?

I would go to an Ayurvedic retreat in India or somewhere in Asia for a month or two and totally rest my mind, body, and soul.

Whether you’re looking for a morning filled with fitness; healthy food; and an IV therapy, or an indulgent afternoon that includes a massage; pedicure; and glass of bubbly, I’m here to make your personalized wellness dream a reality.
