Christmas. With each breath, that is the scent I inhaled as the massage therapist kneaded my tight muscles with the forest-based essential oils. I was in the midst of the Evergreen Massage at The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Seattle — and I was in heaven.

In a world with COVID-19, where international travel is still limited, I’ve found myself exploring domestic destinations that have been on my to-visit list.

Years ago, I was in Seattle for an article I was working on and had a chance to visit the Four Seasons property for lunch and a spa treatment. The moment I laid eyes on the property’s stunning location overlooking Elliott Bay, I promised myself that one day I’d return as a hotel guest.
